A new start in Cheongdam
The author’s practice philosophy and historical reflections on starting 1PM Clinic Cheongdam.
This is a historical notice about concluding earlier practice and moving to Cheongdam. Past dates and affiliations are distinct from current booking information.
Over sixteen years as a physician, I have considered many people’s faces and experiences of aging. Earlier, I often asked how to make someone look more beautiful. Now I ask a different question: how can a person remain healthy, natural and recognizably themselves as they grow older?
That question led me to start 1PM Clinic Cheongdam.
Life is still at 1 PM
I compare middle age with one o’clock in the afternoon. Morning has passed, but the day is far from over. There is still time to decide how to spend the hours ahead.
Skin, hair, body composition, muscle and facial structure change with age. I have become more interested in medically assessing each person’s changes and needs than in simply making someone appear younger.
Healthy Aging, Beautiful You
At 1PM Clinic, I intend to draw on my plastic-surgery background in discussions of natural-looking aging care, aesthetic medicine concerned with skin and tissue, and the changes that accompany age.
I also plan to continue ultrasound-related practice and assessment of possible complications after aesthetic procedures—areas I have studied in clinical and educational settings in Korea and abroad. I hope to keep connecting research and international exchanges with practice and teaching.
Starting again myself
Opening a new clinic in my mid-forties was not a small decision. It made me want to live out the phrase “life is still at 1 PM.” Experience may allow us to move more deeply into our work rather than see aging only as a narrowing of possibility.
For me, 1PM Clinic is an answer to what kind of doctor I want to become, as well as a new practice. A new chapter begins in Cheongdam. The original post said that opening dates and booking arrangements would be announced later; that is a historical notice rather than current booking information.
